Castle Peak Rising Above the Water” is a representation of a new style that Liu Guo Song developed, it has become the first interchange between Chinese and Western tradition. He used thick calligraphic paper and big paint brushes. The painting is mainly composed by ink and traditional colors, but sporadically used colors. Sometimes he will use ink on the back of the paper to make it permeate into the presentation. The skills of using simple strokes and then tearing off the texture created a unique and special texture in order to create abstractism painting. However, he still managed to express the colossal and magnificent Chinese traditional landscape paintings. The viewers could feel as though they are in the Himalayas, far and away from disturbance.
