In 2004, the reason for Ma to stop performance art and began conducting oil painting has to do with him becoming a father. His painting is an extension of performance art, the seemingly abstract picture stand quietly in your view. Everything is so tranquil and gentle, and even with a little fragrance attracting you. The entire style is slow like light music, the notes beating against the rhythm. “ Painting like poem, poem as if painting” is the continual of performance art, and a liberated demonstration of this concept.
