ZHONG CHENG

Lai Che-Hsiang was born in Yilan in 1961, he graduated from the sculpture department of National Taiwan University of Arts as the first of his class. In 1992, he received his master’s degree from University Completeness de Madrid. During his studies, he received scholarships of the University for three years in a row. He won many awards, including first place in the 10^th National Sculpture Competition and the 38^th Provincial Sculpture Competition and many more. Moreover, from 1993 to 2001, he held over thirty exhibitions. His artistic style consists of simple lines and block masses, his artistic language stood out from the rest. By re-imagining the human bodies, Lai free his mind from the boundary of reasons and continued on his self-exploration journey. His recent exhibition includes “Zen – Beauty – Lai Che-Hsiang Solo Exhibition” (2018, Taipei, Art Lee Center)
