Born in Chongqing, Sichuan Province. Graduated from Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1991. Chen wanbo had solo exhibition in the Loft Gallery, Paris(2000), and Back Door, He Xiangning Art Museum, Shenzhen(2003). Since 1992, Chen has participated in over forty group exhibitions such as: The First Guangzhou Biennale in 1992; The First China Oil Painting Biennale in the National Art Museum of China, Beijing in 1993; Conceptual Art from Southwest China exhibition, Chengdu in 1996; Predicament: Contemporary Chinese Art and Photography in Amsterdam in 1998; Chinese Contemporary Art, Paris in 1999; Individual and Society in Art at Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangzhou in 2000; Paris-Beijing, Espace Cardin, Paris; Mahjong: Contemporary Chinese Art from the Sigg Collection, Kunst museum Bernmm Switzerland, and Follow me: Chinese Contemporary Art, Mori Art Museum, Tokyo.
