ZHONG CHENG

顧福生 KU FU-SHENG (b.1935-2017)

Born in Shanghai, China. Ku immigrated to Taiwan from 1948. He followed Huang Chun-Pi and Chu to learn painting in 1954, and then formally entered the Department of Fine Arts, National Normal University of Taiwan. Also The member of ‘'Fifth Moon Art Association’’─ a pioneering art group of Taiwan modern art movement. In 1961, Ku’s artworks won an Honor Award of Saint Paul International Bi-Year Show of Brasil. After traveling to France in 1963, he settled down in the U.S. In addition to oil painting, Ku was also involved in graphic art and various designs. Ku has held one-man exhibitions and group exhibitions in foreign and local art galleries and art museums. Main solo exhibitions:2005 solo exhibition in Eslite Gallery, Taipei, Taiwan. 1997’’ The floating of being : the retrospective of Ku Fu-sheng 1959-1996 ‘’ in Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taipei, Taiwan. 1995 solo exhibition in U.S.A.. 1962 solo exhibition in France. 1961 solo exhibition in National Museum of History, Taipei, Taiwan.
