“What’s missing in life is real passion for art. On the outside, we are not kind, understanding, and protective of our spirit; on the in side, we lack the faith of a martyr. Certainly, artists cannot predict future events or change the world, but they can portray changes they see based on their experience of happiness and sadness. Art is not a profession, leisure activity, but faith for life. There is a clear line between what’s real and what’s not.”

──Yang Shu

Yang’s Painting concept originates from his exploration in painting itself. In his works, all the colors, brushstrokes, rhythm and space become an open world, just like music couldn’t be described in words, the ecstasy under his paintbrush enables each audience of the original works to obtain the unknown and uncertain resonance. The burning and passionate fluorescent colors and unrestrained brushstrokes are wildly poured onto the canvas, with the dazzling light and the almost a gravity speed to compose the dizzy visual impression. His style is somewhere between abstract and expressionism. Through there is still information about images and words from the real world in the non-narrative atmosphere, the information is just incomplete fragment, emerging in the way of visual element.
