“Rock” is the earliest object of creation for Zhou Chun Ya, a perpetual theme in all Chinese landscape masterpieces. It is a representation of nature, the power and completeness shows the artist’s spirit and techniques. “Ya’an”, named after Zhou Chun Ya’s favorite place for observing rocks. Rocks spur direct association with the gentle and delicate Chinese landscape, but Zhou Chun Ya’s description of rocks with his brushstrokes cannot be categorized into traditional painting as it has surpassed the concept, yet inseparable. Zhou Chun Ya expresses a shocking power through elegant rocks. 
 “Zhou Chun Ya marvelously combines classical landscape paintings of the Song and Yuan dynasties with western paintings. It encompasses an atmosphere that surpasses geology and historical culture. His paintings make viewers enter a virtual lonesome world.”
