Exposition:

The work “Moving Sleeve” was originally one of the designs made at the idea of a giant landscape sculpture in front of the Republic of China Pavilion in 1970 “Osaka Expo ‘70” in Japan. The “Long Sleeves” combined a masculine-rigid mountain momentum with the elegant modality of moving sleeves in the traditional Peking Opera. During the period Yuyu Yang took a position as a consultant in Hualien marble plant, the magnificent Taroko Gorge deeply impressed upon him. So, he created a “landscape” series, blending the environment of magnificent mountains and the rhythm of the elegant moving sleeves viewed from all sides shows varying moods, confident and bold. “Sleeves” was a gift given by Lien Chan to Chinese President Hu Jintao on their second meeting in April 2006 to symbolize respect for nature.
