Finished in 1977, Bronze was among the Landscape Series works. Yuyu Yang was appointed as the consultant of RSEA Marble Plant in Hualien in 1967. During that time, he was very moved by the grand terrain of East Rift Valley, which greatly inspired his creation of Landscape Series works. Bronze, which was also known as JuYin, was originally designed for the planning scheme of Canyon Park in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. At first glance it seemed like a figure with unfolded arms, but actually it was a landscape sculpture just as the title expressed. A kind of spherical object right above the sculpture symbolizes the rising sun over the mountain. The expanding of the sculpture in all directions means rolling mountains as well as the brilliant lights penetrate through forests in the morning. The tridimensional and abstract expression of landscapes represents the breakthrough and achievement in Yuyu Yang art creation.
