Painted in 1971, the wild lines in 《No. 471》freely flow on the canvas creating a melody that brought up dark and light orange-green, layering on top of each other, making the melody lighthearted and smooth. Zhu De Qun captured the characteristic of Chinese calligraphy and freely rendered the colors- his style is liberal and hard to predict. The rich color blocks along with the movement of the brushstrokes brought out the depth of space which glitters and shines like jewels….Through the scenery, Zhu De Qun expressed his affections and bring memory to eternity. His inner world is reflected on the canvas as a paradise. 《No. 471》 shows the frontier fortress, but also the countryside. The roundabout mountains and grasslands are expressed with Western colors and Eastern concepts. The viewers can appreciate what Su Dong Po remarked Wang Wei “There is painting in his poetry, and poetry in his painting.”
