Zhushan Township, nestled in the heart of Nantou, Taiwan, played a pivotal role in the artistic journey of Shiy Dejinn. As recounted by his dear friend and the founder of the Shiy Dejinn Foundation, Lu Jin-Hua, Shiy Dejinn was a passionate plein air artist with a skilled intuition for selecting the most enchanting landscapes to capture on his canvas. During that period, Shiy Dejinn shared a residence with the night school students under Lu Jin-Hua's care. Their dwelling, ensconced within a serene bamboo grove, offered an idyllic backdrop for Shiy Dejinn's artistic endeavors.

With the break of dawn, Shiy Dejinn would shoulder his art supplies and embark on a picturesque journey along the meandering pathway that led to the pristine mountains and waters of Zhushan Township. As he stood in awe of the vastness of nature, with the grand silhouettes of towering mountains stretching before him, he would immerse his large brush into moist ink, skillfully blending it with the gentle mist that enveloped the landscape. This harmonious fusion found its place in the masterpiece known as Bamboo Shadows in Mountain Stream - Zhushan Township.

The composition of Bamboo Shadows in Mountain Stream - Zhushan Township is a testament to Shiy Dejinn's artistry. In the distance, the layers of mountains cascade gracefully, their peaks and valleys extending endlessly into the horizon. The middle ground is a study in balance, where the depiction of a meandering stream, kissed by the caress of mist, is framed by the slender, stately trees whose branches sway and leaves rustle in the soft embrace of a gentle breeze. In the foreground, the rhythmic dynamism of the rice fields guides the viewer's gaze from the distant serenity to the vibrant vitality up close. It encapsulates that magical moment when the dawn's haze lingers, yet the invigorating touch of the morning sun begins to permeate the scene—a moment where the viewer feels transported to Shiy Dejinn's very presence.

This painting beautifully encapsulates the juxtaposition of two contrasting yet equally formidable forces—the tranquil mountain stream and the dancing bamboo shadows. It paints a vivid portrait of Taiwan's unspoiled beauty, with mountains upon mountains and forests within forests, a tapestry of endless layers. Through Shiy Dejinn's masterful strokes, each blade of grass and every tree seem to echo his profound connection with the spiritual rhythm of nature, creating an immersive experience that transports one to a realm akin to that of celestial beings.
