The artistic pursuance of Chen Xinmao grows in the background of art history. However, while combining ink and substantial media, he doses not simply transform the composite material art from the west but attempt to apply media and symbols with Chinese characters, stamps, and remaining steles have been rather important throughout his works, and they are even blended with gunny and gypsum, in which a feeling of historical relic emerged from cooled and solidified lava is created. An endless time concept is agglomerated in his works. The History series and the Heritage series are his recent creations. These works emphasize the salience of texture, medium, and constitution in the painting and stress on the performance of ink and the harmony of different media, in which not only blended are primitive and modern factors but also communicated are material and spiritual factors. It is affirmative that his expressing method can not be placed by traditional ink painting.
