Exposition:

John Way’s abstract art is mostly influenced by Chinese calligraphy and seal cutting. John Way’s artistic presence in includes a strong touch of penmanship. His compositions especially highlight vivid movement of line and a sense of free-style dynamic feel. A sort of musical and calligraphic aesthetic feeling is expressed through lines of various length, roughness or fineness, dense or light concentration of paint, speeds and styles of creation. The painting’s lines seem to form many individual cursive characters, its literal meanings are removed but style and spirit of creations is reserved: they are dancing vividly in between colors and forming multiple fresh, delight and beautiful visual images. Such black touches also create a sort of visual tension through the comparisons of static and dynamic element, soft and hard styles within a space filled with power speed and rich creation.
