Since 2000, Ye Yongqing chose the little bird that hid in the “chaos of freedom” and made it a big bird. Ye Yongqing’s big bird is a kind of magnification of the prototype. He photographed his previous bird and projected it on the canvas with slides, and then printed on the canvas free of graffiti. This painting approach is a pre-set program, and Ye Yongqing’s painting suddenly gained a kind of restriction. Therefore, if Ye Yongqing graffiti is still free, it is only a limited freedom. In this respect, he was closer to the occasional art. Ye Yongqing not only accidentally captured a poem-like bird, but also acquired an unexpected wonderland, not only a kind of graffiti freedom, but also a free graffiti wonderland. Ye Yongqing’s picture began by creating a vacant silence, and its kind of purity blurred the original cultural identity that may be passed by the impact.Ye Yongqing image style is like the “void” of Chinese ink painting but also like a modern frugal style; the image lines are like Chinese calligraphy, but are also like some kind of unconscious graffiti by neurosis patients. In Ye Yongqing’s painting, the affected cultural traces still exist, but he gradually reduced them to a minimum, leaving only one contemporary bird with a bit of China.
