Exposition:

By his typical thick black belt line drawing Kuo Chen-chang established from the 1980’s his distinctive style in Taiwan’s contemporary art sector. In his work “Totem and Taboo ─ Gaze-I” Kuo Chen-chang carved out with clay 3-dimensional sense of semi-relief with high and low mix-placed. The linear dents were carved neatly without hesitation and painted with his style of black lines, and beads in bright, gorgeous, heterogeneous forms were used heavily for collage combinations, which fully revealed the distinctive style of Kuo Chen-chang’s paintings.
