Exposition:

The important transformation of Zhou Changjiang begins with his theory of painting. He makes paintings obey a personal law instead of the law of form. A search for the origin of personal view is necessary so that one can transform from the very start. What Zhou found is the basic law of “Yin and yang harmony”. Harmony serves both as a view effect and philosophy. The relation between visual effect and philosophy is one of imagery. Imagery is the fundamental element for the establishment of limits in ancient philosophy. : Image” is the basic structure of an object, which also serves as a model for limiting thought. Image can detach itself from the concrete form of an object or conception, therefore becoming an intelligence that is beyond form.
