Xue Song excels at presenting art in a collage style. The artistic concept can be traced back to Cubism initiated by Georges Braque and Picasso, which presents the main object in painting by collage art in different angles. It is a breakthrough in pure form. Later, the Futurism artists even added a spiritual propaganda of that era into the paintings. Until Dadaism, collage art has developed even more sophisticated concepts, and more breakthroughs in ideas and techniques. Today, collage art is presented in multi perspectives and uniqueness in style. It has totally subverted peoples’ cognition of art, it has also perpetrated into fields in surface design, sculpture, architecture, image and media, literature, plays and music. Collage art is not only a technique; it is also an implicative attitude towards art. Xue Song’s innovation in adding the burning technique has opened doors to a brand new interpretation for art, leaving a remarkable milestone in art development.
