Created in 1954, ''Still Life on the Velvet'' , has adapted Western oil painting but has also blended in naturally a touch of patterns from Oriental ceramics and totem clothes in terms of painting materials. The artwork is presented with a mature technique and a triangular composition. It may seem completely westernized yet the blue strips on the cloth retained an imagery object presented in a dashing and elegant water ink painting style. The combination of still objects is a recreation of a gathering of friends from the art world. The tea containers laying on the side represents a graceful unrestrained style; the red cloth extends the artistic concept into a space bringing in more room for imagination.
