Exposition:

A French nationality origin female sculptor, Ranee Yunne Nikel, held post as professor in Sculpture department of Central Academy of Fine Art in the 1970s and 1980s.  She specialized in sculpture at Sculpture Department of Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Beaux-arts in 1933 and fell in love and later married her classmate Wang Lin Zhi, who was also a profound artist. Their marriage went a long way to overcome obstructions. She experienced China’s Resistance War against Japan, the extremely backward China in poverty, and the booming years later. Even in the face of difficulties, she still held hands with her beloved husband, and loved China- the place where she resided for more than half a century.

Her sculptures encompass the strengths of Western sculptures and the traditional Chinese sculpture concepts. She is characterized with her pursuit of simplified lines and figure, along with personification techniques. One of her representative works is《Cat》, which shows a slim and graceful posture,  sharp eyes and a curled tail to balance off.
