He purposely used the cultural sign “blue-green landscape” to stress the particular experience the East and its traditional culture have in the globalization age. The bomber that symbolizes Western modern civilization and blue-green landscape larger space in the painting and is in the status of attack, combat and oppression. Thus, he clearly emphasizes the aggression and expansion of Western modern culture on Eastern tradition and culture that intelligently hints Western culture have invaded at full stretch Chinese culture over more than a century.

 For Yuan Xiao Fang’s creation “Flight Plan”, the artist skillfully transformed abstract cultural contradiction into concrete image and wittily integrated subtle and complex feelings of contemporary. The technique of expression on the rigid and chilly fuselage shows a strong “material sense” containing an atmosphere of “threat” and “catastrophe”. The silk and soft blue-green landscape is significantly eye-catching that forms a strong contrast in vision compared with airplane which is “icy and hard as steel”. Seeing only materials without the existence of human gives us an impression of human perplexity and disorientation.
