《Scenery》is created in 1970, a time when Liao Chi Chun was living a harmonious and peaceful life, the mood is shown in apparent in his paintings. The passing of time, and experiences he gained from traveling enabled him with a more open-minded outlook on life. Liao Chi Chun achieved mastery through comprehensive experiences.
In 《Scenery》, Liao Chi Chun used subjective colors to give a rich imaginary space in drawing landscape- the colors ranges from red, green, yellow, ultramarine blue and extended into pleasing pink, orange, bright yellow, jade green, mineral green, ocean blue, and deep purple, these colors set off each other. The distance of landscape is shown through thick and think lines, carefully arranged to compose close range, mid range, and long range views. Intensive strokes form the mountains are at the center of focus, the bright light yellow skyline echoes with the moving waves in front of the mountains. In this abstract painting, viewers could indistinctively see the river views, trees by the shore, and bustling boats. The style floats freely between abstract and imagery, rich of pure colors of humanities and ultimate aesthetics.
