Li JiKai’s painting reflects the descending fable situation of this age. It also recalls the real self-modality of paintings for this generation. Being a representative of the late 70’s painters, he is a key practice of cartoon paintings. The boy in Li’s painting seems to be forced to have a daydream of meditation and to play a game by his own. He is not willing to oppose the outside world, but just willing to turn inside and to exceed himself. It seems that he is gradually fond of ill-treating himself and struggling for freedom. During this experience, he has established consanguinity between narrow situation and all those piffling, meaningless matters. He also has established the meaning of self-existence and aesthetic value. From this point of view, Li’s paintings depict the spiritual process of the post 70’s and represent the immanent statement of his generalization.
