This is really a great season for “birdsong and floral scents!” The beauty and romance of cherry blossom in the spring are overwhelmimg. People are inevitably moved to sing their praises. The brushwork for the trunk of the cherry tree on the right is quite powerful; on the branch extending out to the left, a pair of colorful birds are perching close to each other. Set against a pale blue sky and surrounded by the brignt pink cherry blossoms, they form the focus of the composition.
