Born in 1936 in Guiren District, Tainan City, Taiwan, graduated from the Department of Art at Tainan Normal School (now the Department of Visual Arts and Design, National University of Tainan). Specializes in woodcut printmaking as the primary medium for artistic creation. The themes often depict Taiwanese local customs and sentiments, such as rural life, folk activities, and childhood memories, using printmaking to document the historical and cultural footprints of Taiwan.
Since 1972, the artist has been invited to exhibit internationally multiple times and is the first Taiwanese artist to hold a touring solo exhibition in China. Recognized with numerous awards, including the "Golden Sparrow Award" from the Chinese Painting Society in 1980, the Taiwan Provincial Government Arts and Culture Award in 1981, a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of the National Museum of History in 1982 (receiving the museum's Honorary Gold Medal Award), the Gold Seal Award from the Republic of China Printmaking Association in 1996, the 19th Wu San Lien Award for Western Painting Arts, and the Excellence Award for Global Chinese Cultural and Artistic Heritage. The artist also served as the president of the Tainan Fine Arts Research Association (Nanmei Association).
