Nychos was born in Vienna, Austria, into a traditional family. Growing up in an environment where he frequently saw animal carcasses, he developed a strong interest in anatomy. At the age of 14, he decided to become a comic artist and character designer. When he was 17, he encountered street art and culture, which led him from the world of black-and-white comics into a vibrant, colorful one. Due to his childhood interest in anatomy, this element gradually appeared in his work after 2011, becoming a distinct hallmark of his creations.
Nychos' style is defined as a fusion of graffiti, heavy metal, cartoons, and anatomy. In his works, one can see effects similar to X-rays, producing a semi-transparent look. Over the years, his sliced artworks have evolved into new compositions, revealing more internal structures, with each layer adding more detail and realism. His subjects often include well-known characters, animals, and objects, from movie stars to cartoon characters, making it easy for viewers to recognize beloved figures dissected in his unique style. These pieces, especially on large outdoor walls, are striking and sometimes gruesome in their detail. However, all these elements convey his desire to reveal the inner essence. Nychos has stated in interviews that displaying the anatomical structures of famous figures serves as a reminder that no matter how famous one is, we are all ultimately the same flesh and blood. This underscores the powerful and direct messages conveyed through his street art and culture.
In 2005, Nychos founded Rabbit Eye Movement, a platform that provided a nurturing environment for active young street artists. Over the years, it has evolved into a network that promotes the development of street culture. In 2012, he established an art space in Vienna, breaking the barriers that confined graffiti to the streets and integrating street art and culture with museum-grade artworks.
