喬治.康多 GEORGE CONDO ( b.1957 )

George Condo is a visual artist born in 1957 in New Hampshire, USA. He studied art history and music history at the University of Massachusetts in Lowell. In the late 1970s, he established himself in New York City, becoming a highly acclaimed and prominent artist in the East Village art scene. During this time, he briefly worked in Andy Warhol's studio.

Due to his deep interest in art history, George Condo moved to Paris, France in 1985 to further his studies in art history and lived there for a decade. He currently resides in New York City, where he continues to create and live.

George Condo pays homage to art history traditions and movements, developing a unique and imaginative visual language. He combines early master painting techniques with references to contemporary American culture, creating juxtaposed visual compositions filled with contradictions. His avant-garde style, characterized by subversive thinking, has earned him praise from celebrities in the world of popular culture and the title of "heir to Picasso."

His works are held in numerous museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Pompidou Center in Paris, the Tate Modern in London, and the Jumex Foundation Contemporary Art Museum, among others.
