莫伊 MOISÉS YAGÜES (b.1972)

Moisés, the Artist from Spain has a concise and fresh artistic style, influenced by comics, illustrations, and abstract expressionism. He often uses round-headed characters as his subjects, with various elements and scenes such as ladders, flowers, and ropes appearing in their heads, exploring the ever-changing inner world of human thoughts. Upon closer inspection, you can even see embroidery on his works. He loves to tell small stories, integrating unique forms of language into graphic narration, sometimes expressed delicately, profoundly, imaginatively, and at other times, simply and powerfully, full of criticism and humor.

His works open up a new humorous world to the audience, full of unpredictable imaginative situations. He believes that this is a very free form of art, just like when children create simple doodles. His works have been exhibited in important international galleries and art museums in the United States, China, Germany, Slovenia, Spain, and have won multiple awards.

Since 2006, Moisés's works have been frequently exhibited in solo exhibitions, joint exhibitions, biennials, and art fairs in Spain and internationally, often receiving awards and support, such as the First Prize in Spanish National Golden Engraving, the First Prize in Spanish Youth Lithography Art, the International Carmen Arozena Printmaking Award, and the Sala Alfara Graphic Arts Award, etc.
