ZHONG CHENG

梁晉嘉 LIANG CHINCHIA (b.1964)

Liang Chinchia was born in Wanhua, Taipei in 1964. In 1988, he graduated from the National Institute of the Arts (now the National Taipei University of the Arts) and obtained a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Salamanca in Spain in 1994. He is currently a part-time lecturer in the National Taipei University of the Arts, and his works are widely collected by various art museums and collectors.

 

Liang Chinchia is skilled in creating realistic paintings, and is well-known for his excellent realistic painting techniques. Through classical painting techniques, he not only depicts the objects themselves, but also the memories of Taiwan's early traditional culture, reflecting artist’s simple and genuine character. The textures and structures that he organizes between the real and the imaginary, light and shadow, all come from artists various feelings about life. Through long-term observation of things, he seeks to express his emotions connected to his own life experiences and injects abundant emotions into the calm realistic objects. Liang Chinchia never attempts to change nature, but quietly observes the environment, digging and searching for the loveliest and most beautiful aspects of nature.
