小泉悟 SATORU KOIZUMI (b.1983)

Born in 1983 in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, Satoru Koizumi graduated from the Okinawa Prefectural University of Fine Arts with a major in sculptural art. In 2010, he gained recognition in the art world by presenting a series of wooden sculptures depicting children wearing animal-themed clothing and headwear. These children, despite their cute animal outfits, had eyes that conveyed confusion and loneliness, as if speaking of their bewilderment. Through his works, Satoru Koizumi elaborates on how, as people grow up, they gradually become socialized, suppressing their inner nature and wildness, thereby losing their initial innocence. He aims to return to nature by wearing animal-like clothing, representing a reconnection with the origins of life. His works appear charming and cute on the surface but carry profound human reflections. Koizumi's exquisite craftsmanship quickly made him an emerging art star, and his art has become popular at art exhibitions in the United States, Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, and other places, with various collectors showing great interest.

In 2023, an exclusive presentation titled "Artelli Exclusive: Satoru Koizumi Flash Taiwan Station - Global Debut of Disney Mickey Series" was held in Taiwan. The exhibition featured a series of Disney-themed artworks and a massive 5-meter-tall Mickey art installation, creating a sensation as people eagerly flocked to witness it.
