ZHONG CHENG

Zhan Yu Fan, born in 1983 in Taipei, Taiwan, graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts and later pursued a master's degree in fine arts at National Taiwan Normal University. He excels in using elements from the real world, such as people, events, and objects, and transforming them into virtual mediums. With a systematic approach, he incorporates these elements into his artworks, delving into the depths of the "surreal world" and seeking self-interpretation. Zhan's passion for art has driven his unwavering commitment to his artistic journey.

During his academic years, Zhan actively participated in various large and small art competitions, accumulating experience and skills. He received recognition from judges and the art community, winning top prizes in competitions such as the 6th Da Dun Fine Arts Exhibition, the 9th Xin Zhuang Arts Exhibition, and the Chi Mei Art Award.

In 2011, he achieved the New Trend Award first prize at the Taipei International Contemporary Art Fair, known as "YOUNG ART TAIPEI" (YAT), solidifying his status as a leading emerging artist.

Zhan Yu Fan has showcased his artworks in various exhibitions, including the "Beyond World: Contemporary Art Show" in Taipei, which is a permanent exhibition (2019, Donna Art), the Shanghai Urban Art Fair (2014, China, Ching Yun Gallery), and "Migration and Drama" (2013, Taipei, Ching Yun Gallery). His solo exhibitions, such as "Swallow Generations - Uniform Stories" (2009, Taipei, Ching Yun Gallery) and "Uniform Stories" (2009, Taipei, Jin Car Art Center), received critical acclaim. Zhan has also participated in group exhibitions like "The Diary of Nesting Art Society, No. 4" (2016, Taipei, Jin Car Cultural and Art Center) and "Beyond Image: Taiwan Contemporary Realism Artists" (2016, Taipei, Ching Yun Gallery). His work has been featured in prestigious art events, including the 2017 Taipei Art District Festival in Greater Taipei.

In addition, Zhan Yu Fan's art has become a part of the permanent exhibition "Beyond World: Contemporary Art Show" (2019, Taipei, Donna Art), and he held a solo exhibition titled "Classical Contemporary Virtual Reality" in collaboration with AUNT STELLA Poetry X Ching Yun Gallery (2019, Taipei). He also participated in the 2021 Art Taipei art fair (2021, Taipei, Ching Yun Gallery) and the "Between Knowledge and Action - 2021 Contemporary Art Group Exhibition" (2021, Taipei, Ching Yun Gallery). His latest exhibition is "Animal Chat Room" (2023, Taipei, Donna Art).
