Artist Chen Yuta obtained his MFA from the Nihon University College in sculpture. His style demonstrates Japanese influences of minimalism and radiates warmth through qualities of humor and ease. He often takes inspirations from everyday-life observations. Originally, Chen worked mostly in drawings, in recent year he slowly transitioned to three dimensional works. His sculpture often depicts unique characters with intriguing backstories, as if they came alive from a story book. His recent exhibitions include: “Nice and Warm: Chen Yuta Solo Sculpture Exhibition” (2016, Fish Art Center, Taipei); “New Beginning of Eastern Aesthetics” (2015, Red Gold Fine Art, Toyko); “Relaxing: Chen Yuta Solo Sculpture Exhibition” (2014, Fish Art Center, Taipei).
