ZHONG CHENG

喬納斯.伍德 JONAS WOOD (b.1977)

Jonas Wood was born in 1977 in Boston, he is an American contemporary artist. He received his Bachelor of Psychology from Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, New York (1999); and Master’s Degree in painting from the University of Washington in Seattle (2002). He met his wife during pottery lessons, together they moved to Los Angeles in 2003 and shared a working studio. Jonas’ work demonstrates shape of cut-out appearance to create an intimate interior, guiding the viewers through a vivid and interesting setting. His signature style consists of mainly geometric shapes painted in one vibrant color; the simplicity and playful composition was well received by many. He participated in many exhibitions, including Bloom and Poe Gallery in Los Angeles (2007); New York Anton Kern Gallery (2007); Los Angles David Candansky Gallery (2012); and New York Lihua Building Exhibition (2013). Wood’s works can be seen in the permanent collection of Hanmo Museum in Los Angeles and MoMA New York.
