ZHONG CHENG

吳健 WU JIAN(b.1942)

Born in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province .Member of Chinese Artists Association and the National Portrait Gallery of the United States. Wu, who is living in New York, U.S. now, was admitted to Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 1961. He used to be the teacher of Arts Departments of Shanghai Education Institute and Shanghai Jiaotong University. His works have been displayed in “National Fine Arts Exhibition” and “Shanghai Fine Arts Exhibitions” many times before 1986, when he went to the United States. Wu studied in San Francisco Art Institute and New York Art league after going to America and has held many annual exhibitions during his stay there. From 1996 to 1997, he held solo exhibitions in Asia Arts Center of Taipei. Wu’s works have attracted considerable attentions of Chinese as well as foreign collectors and have been collected by Shanghai Fine Arts Museum, Shanghai Luxun Memorial, and NECCA Museum in Connecticut and Xushi Museum in Hong Kong.
