ZHONG CHENG

何鄂 Ho Eh (b.1937)

Ho Eh, a female sculptor also known as Rock. A native from Jinshan, JiangSu China. In 1955, she graduated from the Sculpture Department of Northwest Art Institute .  From 1955 to 1959, Ho Eh was employed at the Art Service Agency in Gansu province.  From 1960 to 1962, she taught at Art Department of Lanzhou Art Institution. From 1962 to 1974, she worked at the DunHuang Academy.  From 1974 to 1993, she worked at the Gansu Arts and Crafts Association.  In 1995, she founded Gansu Ho Eh Sculpture Institute.  Ho Eh served as the Department head of Gansu Arts and Crafts Association, council member of the China Artists Association for many years.  She is currently a member of the National City Sculpture Arts committee, executive director of China Sculpture Institute, Vice chairman of Gansu Artists Association, Dean of Gansu Ho Eh Sculpture Institute.  She is an advanced artisan, and was the sixth and seventh annual member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Gansu Committee. In 1987, she won the first city sculpture excellent award with granite sculpture《Our Mother- Yellow River》. In 1989, stoneware 《Embroidery Girl》 was honored with award from the Liu Kaiqu Art Fund, and is kept at the National Art Museum of China.  In 1993, her artworks were displayed at “Cross straits Sculpture Exchange Exhibition”, held in Taiwan, and she was titled Master of Chinese Arts and Crafts.  In 1998, “ Ho Eh Sculpture Arts Exhibition” was held at the National Art Museum of China in Beijing.  She won a certificate of merit and a medal for National excellent artists.
