ZHONG CHENG

傅小石 FU XIAOSHI (b.1932)

Fu Xiao-Shi was born in Jiangxi, China. He graduated from the department of Printmaking at the Certral Academy of Fine Art in 1958. His father is the renowned calligrapher and artist Fu Baoshi. Although growing up, he was deeply inspired by his father’s painting style, yet he was determined to experiment and develop his own unique artistic language. Thus, he formed a unique style of splashing of the ink, his artworks came alive, and the passionate energy became the main source of his creation. In 1979, he entered an exhibition titled “Unnamed exhibition,” ever since, he held solo exhibitions in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, Nanjing and more. His work “Lute Store” and other works are acquired by National Art Museum of China.
