Born in Ningbo, China, Chen Yifei graduated from Shanghai Fin Art School in 1965 and was awarded the master's degree from In New York Hunter College in 1984; he then devoted himself to oil painting creations. Since 1981, His had held 6 individual exhibitions at the Hammer Gallery in New York, and then held plenty of solo exhibitions successively in Washington, New York, and Tokyo. His works have been collected by National Art Museum of China, China People's Revolution Military Museum, other art institutions and collectors at home and abroad. In 1992, he returned to Shanghai. From 1996 to 2000, he had conducted numerous solo exhibitions around the world, the place which include New York, China, Venice and France.
