ZHONG CHENG

郭正善 GUO ZHENGSHAN (b.1954)

Guo Zheng Shan was born in Hubei, Wuhan, he graduated from Hubei Institutes of Fine Arts in 1983, and later remained to teach at the school as a professor for the graduate’s program. He is a member of the Chinese Artist Society, the executive director of Hubei Oil Painting Association, and deputy director of the Hubei Artist Association Oil Painting Committee. His artworks often surround the subject of still life objects. He won multiple awards and participated in competitions such as the 1st and 2nd Chinese Oil Painting Exhibition, as well as the 8th National Art Exhibition. His artworks are now in the permanent collection of National Art Museum of China and Shanghai Art Museum. His recent exhibitions include: “Review and Prospects” (2011, China, Hubei Art Museum); “The Hope: Venice Biennial” (2013, Italy, Venice); “Re-Modern: The Third Wuhan Art Literature Exhibition” (2014, China, Hubei Art Museum); “Painting after Prime” (2015, Wuhan Art Museum). His artwork “Oil Painting Still Life 3” created in 2016 also participated in the “Research Exhibition on Chinese Artists of Impressionistic Oil Painting School” Tour Exhibition.
