ZHONG CHENG

俞可 YU KE (b.1956)

Yu Ke was born in Chongqing, China. He graduated from the oil painting department at Southwest Normal University in 1983. He received his MFA from Russian Herzen University in 1995. Yu Ke later became a professor at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and editor in chief for “Contemporary Artist” Magazine. The magazine is an academic publication, and the first Chinese magazine to enter Art Basel. Yu Ke is also the main curator for Tank Library- Chongqing Contemporary Art Center - one of the most important art institute in western China; not only is the space non-profit, it also aims to promote contemporary art by encouraging non-restricted and democratic artistic experiments. Yu Ke also published numerous essays focused on art discussions based on artist in China, Korea, Russia, England, Europe and more
