ZHONG CHENG

林文強 LIN WENCHIANG (b. 1943)

Lin Wen Chiang was born in Nantou, Taiwan, he began his artistic training at the National Taiwan University of Art. In 1977, he received a gold medal in the National Fine Arts Exhibition. In 1980, he moved to Paris to study at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière, where he indulged in Western aesthetics. Lin is an important artist of the Taiwanese Nativist movement, he often depicted farmers to express the warm and vibrant vitality of the Taiwanese people. Lin likes to explore the inner origin of each individual with symbolic and surreal language. It is only through art that he can convey the meaning of life, and tells the story of the island people.
