ZHONG CHENG

朴栖甫 PARK SEOBO (b.1931)

Park Seo-bo was born in Seoul, he graduated from the Fine Arts department of Hong-Ik University and received an honorary doctorate from the same institution in 2000. From 1962-97, he continued to teach at the institution. Park is one of the most important Contemporary artist in Korea. He is also the president of Seo-Bo Arts and Cultural Foundation. He entered many important exhibitions including: “The 3rd Biennale de Paris” (1963, France); “The 8th Biennale de Sao Paulo” (1965, Brazil); “The 13th Biennale de Sao Paulo” (1975, Brazil); “Ace Gallery Solo Exhibition” (2002, LA). Recent exhibitions include: “Taipei Art Fair” (2010, Small Beauty Gallery); “Park, Seo-Bo, a Forerunner of Korean Avant-garde: Record His 60 Years” (2011, Busan Metropolitan Art Museum, Korea); “Solo Exhibition” (2012, Dasgu Art Museum, Korea); “Toronto Art Fair” (2012, Small Beauty Gallery); “Solo Exhibition” (2012, DDP, Seoul); “Ecriture” (2014, Galerie Perrotin, France). His works exhibited in many important institutions including: Busan Metropolitan Museum, Singapore Art Museum, Museum of East Asian Art Berlin and Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. His work are acquired by Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, Fukuoka Art Museum and the private collection of FNAC group.
