Andre Brasilier was born in Anjou, France. His father Jacques Brasilier was also a painter. In 1949, he enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. In 1952, he won the Prix Florence-Blumenthal and Grand Prix de Rome awards. From 1954-1957, he lived in Villa de’ Medicis and participated in many Paris group exhibitions in 1956. In 1960, he won the Villeneuve-sur-Lot Award. In 1988, he received the Médaille de Vermeil distinction granted by the Ville de Paris. His paintings are known for depicting women of beauty and elegance, as well as admirable nudes and noble man, mostly with Val-de-Loire as the background- an astonishing and mesmerizing small town. His works portray a calm and relaxed world, a simply utopian, painted in abstract forms and vibrant colors. He is recognized a master of Modern French Figurative Painting. His painting can be found in the collection of French government, Art museums in Paris, Belgium and more. Recent exhibitions include: “Tribute to the Masters II--- International Art Masters Exhibition” (2015, Nanjing International Art Exhibition), “On Idle Shores- Andre Brasilier Exhibtion” (2015, Hong Kong, Opera Gallery)
