ZHONG CHENG

方少華 FANG SHAOHUA (b.1962)

Fang Shao Hua was born in Hubei, China. He graduated from the oil painting department of Hubei Institute of Fine Art in 1983. He received his master’s degree from the same institute in 1988. He is currently the research director at the National Taiwan Normal University, and vice principle of the school. He received the Excellencey Award at the 6th National Art Exhibition; Artistic Award at the Chinese Small Oil Painting Exhibition; Outstand Literature Award at the 1st Art and Literature Nomination Exhibition; and Best Award at the 2nd Chinese Oil Painting Scenery Exhibition. He participated in the following exhibition: “National Art Exhibition” (1984, 1988, China); “China!” (1996, Bonn Modern Art Museum, Germany); “Chinese Contemporary Art Exhibition” (1997, Singapore, Austria, Vienna, Poland, Denmark); “14th Asia International Art Exhibition” (1999, Japan) and many other international exhibitions. Fang Shao Hua’s artworks are acquired by Museum of Modern Art, Munich; National Gallery Singapore, Bonn Culture and Art Foundation, Shanghai Art Museum, Guangdong Museum of Arts, Chinese Oil Painting Society and other institutes. His recent exhibitions include: “Realm of Form as Emptiness: Fang Shao Hua Solo Exhibition” (2015, Hong Kong, Kwai Fung Hin Art Gallery); “Calligraphic Time and Space: Abstract Art in China” (2015, Shanghai Power Station of Art); “One Painting a World” (2016, Guangdong, Ke Mu Long Art Park, Shang Yi Space).
