馬克.奎安 MARC QUINN (b.1964)

Marc Quinn was born in London, England in 1964. He graduated from the Robinson College, Cambridge in 1985. Quinn’s art displays a preoccupation with the mutability of the body and the dualism that define human life- spiritual and physical, surface and depth, cerebral and sexual. His renowned work, include “Planet” a monumental rendition of his son as a baby permanently installed at The Garden by The Bay Singapore (2008); and “The Complete Marble” that idealized and celebrate the ‘incomplete’ bodies (1990-2005). Other critically acclaimed works include “Evolution,” a total of ten sculptures depicting human embryos throughout the stages of its development (2005). Quinn is also known for his hyperrealist oil painting of flowers and photorealist paintings of irises, created using an airbrush.
